Coir matting

Coir matting is a type of floor covering made from the fibre of coconut husks. Coir, also known as coconut fibre, is derived from the outer shell of mature coconuts. The fibres are extracted, cleaned, and then spun into yarns or ropes, which are woven or pressed together to create mats.

Some coir mats have a vinyl or rubber backing to prevent slipping and enhance stability. They are relatively easy to maintain and can be cleaned by shaking, vacuuming, or occasionally hosing them down with water.
