Coir matting

Coir matting is a type of floor covering made from the fibre of coconut husks. Coir, also known as coconut fibre, is derived from the outer shell of mature coconuts. The fibres are extracted, cleaned, and then spun into yarns or ropes, which are woven or pressed together to create mats.

These mats come in various sizes, thicknesses, and designs, ranging from simple solid colors to intricate patterns. Some coir mats have a vinyl or rubber backing to prevent slipping and enhance stability. They are relatively easy to maintain and can be cleaned by shaking, vacuuming, or occasionally hosing them down with water.

Gel-backed ribbed matting

Gel-backed ribbed matting is a type of floor matting that features a ribbed surface design and a gel or rubber backing for added stability and cushioning. The matting is typically made from durable synthetic materials like polypropylene or nylon.

The ribbed design of these mats consists of raised ridges or grooves that run parallel across the mat’s surface. These ribs serve multiple purposes. Firstly, they enhance the mat’s ability to trap and hold dirt, debris, and moisture, keeping the surrounding area clean and dry. The ribbed texture also provides a scraping action, effectively removing dirt and grime from shoes.

Tony, Jack and team have replaced all our flooring - 5 bedrooms and hallways in carpet, kitchen, utility room, cloakroom and bathrooms in Amtico as well as 2 custom rugs for our living areas and screeding of floors. Every room has been completed to an extremely high standard and the team are a pleasure to have in the house. They really have done a stunning job and we are absolutely thrilled with the results. Nothing is too much bother for Tony and team. For example, our fitting dates slipped which meant Tony had to store a large amount of carpet for us for a few months. Not a problem. One floor was very damaged and needed more work than anticipated when screeding. Not a problem. Rooms ran behind schedule and we needed to move fitting dates. Not a problem.
